Internet
Network Infrastructure
An important, yet frequently overlooked,
consideration when choosing a Internet company is the quality and physical
location of their network infrastructure.
Our
Services are always connected to the Internet backbone using three different
providers, Simply, MFN - AboveNet and Level 3 with backup services from
Newnet.
The Level 3 transatlantic network, among the top three largest Internet
carriers in the world. Their 10 Gbps seamless, redundant IP backbone
spans in excess of 20,000 miles across North America and Europe.
The
MFN backbone has been optimized for scalability, survivability, performance,
efficiency and manageability. This infrastructure enables MFN to deliver
a high level of availability and fast Internet response for both domestic
and international traffic.
Connectivity
is managed via the BGP4 protocol using Cisco Routers. This provides
a high level of redundancy as if one connection fails the others automatically
take over without any downtime.
Primary, Secondary and Tertiary DNS servers are run on independent networks
in different physical locations.
Websites are hosted on an Intel Pentium processor powered server, supplied
by Compaq, Dell or HP with a minimum of 1024MB of RAM. Switches and
Routers are Cisco. Plesk provides the control panel software for end
users to administer their hosting accounts.
